Lesson- The Bucketheads

Materials Needed: The book The Buckethead Families by Mike Epperly. Buckets purchased
from Oriental Trading. Styrofoam cups, glue, eyeballs from construction foam and hole puncher.
Read the book
Questions regarding reading:
1.What is a giver?
2. What is a taker?
3. Why did the good feelings leak out of the takers buckets?
4. How did the givers feel when they gave away good feelings?
5. Who helped the takers learn that giving away good feelings makes others happy nad refills our
buckets with happiness as well?

Activity: Have students decorate styrofoam cups.
FollowUp- Throughout the year positive behavior is explained as "filling someone's bucket."
Negative behavior is explained as "poking a hole in someone's bucket or filling it
with bad feelings."
