By mastering new vocabularies ( app. 500 of 1500 words ) and grammar which are in accordance with the certain themes and sub themes, the students are able to get the 4 skills of language ( listening, speaking, reading, and writing ).2. Specific Instructional Objectives :
a. Listening
- Finding the main idea of short conversation
- Finding detailed information of short and simple conversation
- Finding certain information of short conversation
b. Speaking
- Asking and answering/replying question(s) over the theme ( astronomy )
- Having short conversation fluently
- Explaining matters, person(s), places, and chronological events in simple explanation
- Speaking mind(s), thought(s), opinion(s) in asimple speech/explanation
c. Reading
- Finding certain information
- Getting general view of the text(s)
- Finding explicit and implicit main idea
- Getting the whole information ( explicit and implicit )
- Interpreting words, phrases, and sentences in accordance with the contexts
d. Writing
- Compiling sentences ( max. 10 sentences ) which are given at random into a paragraph
- Completing short and simple conversation in writing
- Making short descriptive and narrative paragraph ( max. 10 sentences) over simple topics
- Answering comprehention test in writing
- Making memorandum
- Replying simple letter

4. Teaching-Learning Processes
1. Approach, method, and techniques
- Approach
We'll use communicative approaches. Here are some principles that may be inferred :
a. activities that involve real communication ( not real situation, it's impossible to get real situation of galaxy in classroom ) promote learning
b. activities in which language is used for carrying out meaningful tasks promote learning
c. language that is meaningful to the learner promotes learning
- Method
Following the approach above, we'll use the Communicative Language Teaching Method
- Techniques
Commmunicative Language Teaching uses almost any activity that engages learners in authentic communication.
2. Teaching Activities
Here are two major activities types in Communicative Language Teaching :
a. functional communication activities : ones aimed at developing certain language skills and fuction, but which involve communication
b. social interaction activities, such as conversation and discussion sessions, dialogues and role plays
