Northwest School District Substitute, Jackson, USA
Materials Required: Pencil or Pens and Post It's
Activity Time: Five Minutes
Concepts Taught: Teacher Support When Substituting

When you are a substitute in a classroom where the teacher could use support of the students. At the beginning of the class you are subbing. Explain that we are going to take the time to support your teacher. I am going to give each of you a post-it and you are to encourage your teacher in your own way. Then when they are finished instruct them to put them on a wall next to the desk. It is really special to watch each student in their sincerity express themselves to the teacher. This exercise was a blessing to both the students and the teacher. I have done this twice and it was only a positive exercise. (It is recommended in times of when a teacher loses a spouse, when a teacher has a dying parent, and a very sick child)
