I write the very famous haiku on the board from "Bashu" : The sound of the frog, Jumping, the old pond. the students may seem quite confused but i tell them this the most famous poem in the world. by this semi-exaggerated comment, they try to figure out the reason of the fame. " Imagine, far from here, you're sitting near water and the only thing you hear , is the sound of a frog , jumping in an old pond. how better you could've expressed your feelings about this , in a poem ? " this works out. they get it. now.. cinquin is a poem like haiku , and the technique will be said and applied for saying one.
