Materials Required: glue, scissors, construction paper, kimono template, sequins, markers, crayons, books on Japan
Activity Time: 45 minutes

Objective:

Students will identify the kimono as a traditional Japanese clothing. Students will understand the importance of nature in Japanese traditional crafts. Students will create and design their own kimono.

Materials:

Glue
Scissors
Construction paper
Kimono template
Sequins/glitter
Markers
Crayons


Procedures:

1. teacher reads about Japan.
2. Introduce new vocabulary words.
3. Complete discussion and show students how to create their own kimono. Have fun!

Evaluation:

Teacher will assess Kimono.
