Students will scatter around the room into their own personal space. The teacher will read a sentence to the students and then say a locomotor skill. The sentence will contain a past tense, present progressive, or future tense verb. According to which tense the verb is and what motor skill the teacher says, the students will take four locomotor movements towards the correct poster. An example would be the teacher would say, "Sherry ran to the store.", and then she would say "Skip." The students would take four skips to the past tense poster. Teachers may want to modify the number of movements or number of locomotor skills used depending on the classroom environment.
