Lesson Plan for Jonathan Edwards

- When teaching Jonathan Edwards you should take one day to have the students read some of his works so that they can get a feel for what his beliefs are.

- Make sure that when the students read Sinners in the hands of an angry God they understand that Edwards was just trying to inform his congregation of the truth. He was speaking the sermon out of a love and care for his people because he did not want them to go to hell.

- Activity: Tell the students to pretend that they knew their best friend was going to hell and they wanted to save them from it. What would they say to their friend to save him? After they have done this explain to them that this was exactly what Edwards was doing when he preached his message, Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.
