My kids love this lesson. We start by singing "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean." I sing it alone, but stand up and sit down each time the word begins with a B. When you introduce the song you can have the students figure out why you are standing and sitting. The kids love the challenge of keeping up with me as I sing. Sometimes I play the piano while I stand and sit, a challenge for even the best piano player! The faster, the better. It is also a great quad workout. I have used this with grades 1-8 and have seen high school choirs do it.
