Activity Time: 20 minutes
Concepts Taught: Desert animals and plants

To make mini desert, ask children to put sand on a paper plate. Bring a real cactus plant, let children observe it and make a cactus from clay. Use tooth picks as thorns. Paint it green when it dries and put some coloured paper flower cut outs or flower shape beads on the cactus .Now put the cactus in the plate. Either make a clay desert animal or take a plastic one and put in on the sand also. Your mini desert is ready.
