First, on Microsft word, create whatlooks like a check. Including the check number, the made- up bank. Then, on a Monday, have students student sign their name on a peice of paper and turn it into a special box. Students should do this every day and not be reminded of it. iT should be done before class starts. Every day each student remembers to hand in their slip they recieve $5 play money. If the student is absent, not in class, late or forgets to hand in the slip, then they don't get the play money. Have your students fill out a check register (make this on Word too) and have them deposi money into their account using a deposit slip ( make on MicrosoftWord.). Have students pay fake bills. At desired ening time, hold an auction that students bring in items from home as a closer for the unit. Using the play money they've earned, they can bid for these items. Try It! :)
