Provide each student with an ad or circular. I find that the Toys R Us Big Book (around Christmas time)works very well for keeping the kids interest for this lesson as well. After teaching the students what similes and metaphors are, provide each student an ad. They are to pick 6 items and write an advertisement for each product. They are to use three metaphors and three similes total. This lesson ca also be tired into a great persuasive writing piece.
