The Miracle Called Water Lesson Plan

Materials Required: 4 clear glass jars, red food coloring
Activity Time: 30 minutes
Concepts Taught: How does water get contaminated

Divide class into 4 groups. Give each group a clear glass jar filled with water and red food coloring to be added to show how water gets contaminated. The droplets of food coloring represent bacteria or disease. As the students drop some food coloring into the water, questions are then asked from the teacher; What do you see? Would you want to drink it? How would it affect people and animals?
