Materials Required: flashcards and fluency sheets
Activity Time: 20 m
Concepts Taught: Sightword and reading fluency

Objective: Identify and read sightwords in flashcards and activity sheets.

Procedure:
1. Write sightwords on board and review with class
2. Pass out sightword flashcards just reviewed
3. Students cut flashcards out
4. Students challenge as many peers as possible within 10 minutes (Teacher should review these sightword flashcards with the low group at this time)
5. Store the flashcards into an envelope.

Follow-up: Complete sightword worksheet that practices the same sightwords.
