Local School Creates Web Site

The Hunt is On!
Local students have been given the assignment to create a web site for their school. How would they decide what to put on their site?
To help them the students searched the internet for the following sites:
www.hudson.k12.ia.us
www.cedar-falls.k12.ia.us
www.dunkerton.k12.ia.us
www.nashua.plainfield.k12.ia.us
www.web66.umn.edu/
As the students searched the sites they were evaluating the following:

Font Size Graphics
Links Layout
Content Organization
Colors Font Style
Web Page Abstracting Worksheet Used for the Good of the School
Content and organization are important aspects of a good web site. A website with good content will be unsuccessful if the information is disorganized.
Students completed the web page abstracting worksheet as part of web page evaluation. They filled in the chart below in preparation for making their own school's web site. Hats off to these students.
Fun Facts: Internet traffic is doubling every 100 days.
