From time-to-time, the international school my boys attend have "virtual days," when students are permitted to stay at home and do all of their assignments via internet. I suppose teachers are at home too, but I have no way to confirm that. But, on those days it is completely online learning. They say its practice for foul weather days and unexpected closures. Is this a practice DoDEA schools also have in place? Are there teachers on staff who are certified in online teaching? Thanks,
haha There are DoDDS virtual school teachers but they are generally located at more centralized locations and not at the remote DoDDS school.

Someone at the school often facilitates virtual classes (like the Information Specialist, a, Asst. Principal) but they are basically just monitoring behavior and giving out test codes and not teaching the...See More

Euxpat DODEA also has a Virtual Schools in three locations; DDESS Hub - Quantico, Virginia, Europe Hub - Wiesbaden, Germany , Pacific Hub - Okinawa, Japan. You can add them through the EAS under 'Target Location and Date'.
