Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I was wondering if it is possible to transfer from DDESS to DODDS or are they two separate entity and the transfer does not happen? Also, if you are made an offer, does the offer letter state what your benefits are? I can't seem to find the benefits, i.e, px commissary use in Puerto Rico.

Thank you

newdodea12345 Marie-Lorraine, This is the so comprehensive; thank you so much for posting. I don't know if the position is part-time, I would be hired as an ESL teacher for High School. What makes this harder is that I know I was recommended but I don't have any paperwork yet. I'm still waiting for that, so I'm not sure about salary and how that factors into the...See More
Mary NewDODEA1234, f your application is frozen, it is only frozen for this hiring year (2017-2018). You will be able to update it again around FEB/MAR for the 2018-2019 school-year. Knowing you were recommended is good, but sometimes they recommend three applicants with their preference of who their first choice, is, but HR can choose any of the three....See More

newdodea12345 Mary-Lorraine, I just tried to check EAS but something is up with the DoDEA website. I will have to check later. I will call the principal and ask. I did check the PR salary schedule and if they only accept 5 years of my teaching experience, that would place at step 5, I think. I will update once call and get more information. Thank you so much!
newdodea12345 Would someone who has worked for DDESS and successfully transfer to DODDS share some insights with me. I have 3 great offers, two international schools and one DDESS position in PR. I would love to work for DoDDS overseas. I have never considered stateside because of the relocation fees and housing which I pay on my own. If accept the international...See More

Teach I have friends who waited years to get into DoDDS even though they were in DDESS. However, I was hired from DDESS for a job in Japan this year and it was the first I had applied. However, I had spent 3 years overseas in Okinawa as a local hire and I knew people throughout Japan which I am sure helped me to get an interview so quickly.
