I haven't been offered anything yet, but I just want to be prepared if I do. I have 2 dogs, age 13 & 15. The position that I am being considered for is in Japan.

Both of my 4 legged babies are up to date on shots and all. I was doing some reading about pets coming into Japan from the US and saw something about a rabies test and the quarantine.

I really don't want them to have to go into quarantine and with their age, I am concerned about the fligh, but they are family.

Anyone have any insight on this process?

HelpOthers Keep in mind that the temporary facilities you stay when waiting for available on-base housing that permits dogs may not permit dogs or may not have enough rooms that allow pets. Start the process immediately, as it is a 6 month process. You may need to have a spouse come later with the dogs or have friends put the dogs on a flight to you after you...See More

Supernova What breeds are they? Some airlines also restrict when they ship specific dogs such as brachycephalic breeds.
