If by some miracle I get an offer for next year, I was wondering about the math progression. My son is a 5th grader but will have completed 7th grade advanced math which means here he would move to Algebra 1 for his 6th grade year. Are 6th graders in the middle school or elementary school? Also, do you think they will honor that progression? I was reading some documents that seemed to state they don't like to accelerate at the middle school level but do in 8th grade. If any counselors have an idea what would happen let me know.

haha I wouldn't worry too much about it. Even with just the "with family" (teacher plus at least one dependent) rate you would be just fine in most locations. We have the "2-3 Dependent" rate and even with a large (by Japanese standards) house off base we would still be fine with the lower rate.
