I finally received an email from HR stating that my background investigation had cleared and asked me how soon I could report to work. (This is for a stateside position. I'll be moving from Florida to Fort campbell). I'm wondering just a Cooke of thin b's as I prepare:

1. how far after I start working will my insurance benefits kick in?

2. what has been everybody's experience with the 1st paycheck? Does everybody really have to wait the full 6 weeks before seeing their first check?

Ida It is not BCBS. Our card for the Foreign Service Benedit plan says Aetna.

HelpOthers Blue Cross Blue Shield is one option. Foreign Service Benefit Plan (serviced through Aetna) is another option.

teacherlife62411 Thank you so much! Also, how expensive is it to have 4 kids on the insurance plan?

haha It would depend on which state your are living in and what plan you choose. This may not be exact but will give you a good idea:
