I have applied for a position as an Assessor for the next school year. I would like to get an idea of the scope of the position under DODEA. I have worked for 18 years as an Assessor (although under a different title in my state) and 3 different schools so I am aware that the job duties can vary greatly from district to district. I would appreciate any assistance/information. Thanks!

Donna J haha, again, thank you for the information.

Just an aside, although this is my first post, I have been reading and following this chatboard for a couple of months and have come to think of you as the Mayor of the DODDS Chatbiard. lol

Icanread Yes, Donna! Haha is the wise one who we can always count on to answer our questions. I am so appreciative of everything that he (she?) shares and the time that he spends answering our questions.

haha LOL. Time does fly. It seems like not that long ago I was just trying to get into DoDEA and there were a lot more people (current and aspiring DoDEA teachers) posting here with a lot of really good information. I'm just trying to keep it going in some way, shape or form.

HelpOthers DoDEA just recently started following IDEA due to a hold-up in congress. We are not part of the Department of Education, we fall under the Department of Defense, so changes can take much longer than you might expect. The "Companion Guide" is replacing the 2005 Special Education Manual you may have found online.
