I have been traching stateside for 3 months and there is quite a bit of talk about possible rfts. I was one of 4 new hires at my school alone, so that puts me at the bottom of the barrel interms of seniority. I am eligible to teach all elementary grades, mild-moderate SPED, secondary humanities, and middle ELA. My biggest concern is not having a job. What is the likelyhood that (with the every shrinking numbers at stateside bases) that I could loose my job?? I am LITERALLY willing to go anywhere, as long as I get to stay with DoDEA.

What are your thoughts on what the DoD would do to educate children of troops stationed overseas? Would they just pay for them to go to international schools?

There has been talk of down...See More

DoDEA is not building new schools.

The schools tha...See More

haha I won't belabor the conversation since we are just expressing opinions and presenting the facts in a light that best lines up with our personal outlook/philosophies (e.g. Chicken Little, Unicorn-riding optimist, etc.).

You can't really compare the numbers of military children attending int'l schools to the 50,000 students attending DoDEA s...See More
