Actually..to answer my own question.. I just got the TQSA paperwork. Am I to understand they will pay for you to live in a hotel stateside for up to 30 days until your departure?

AS I recall, TQSA is for when you arrive at your new post. It can also be used when you are transferring between permanent assignments but NOT when you are a new hire getting ready to go to your first overseas post.

You may be reimbursed for up to 10 days I believe for hotel cost and rental car, while in the states (not clear about this one) but your actual TQSA does not begin until you arrive in the country of your duty station.
