Within my tentative offer e-mail, it said to not resign from your current position until a firm offer has been received. It's been 7+ weeks since I've received my tentative offer and my EQIP has yet to be initiated which has delayed my firm offer.

Since teachers and other staff return for the upcoming school year on 7/25 with my current job, I thought that it would be responsible and professional of me to notify my current principal of my current situation. She sent a not so flattering response and I'm not sure of how to respond as of yet. She says that she cannot release me until a replacement has been found. In a way this gives me time to continue to wait on EQIP, but I feel as if my current position will make it difficult to transition to DoDEA once my travel orders eventually come. I'm in the process of pulling out my contract to see how resignment should be properly handled.

Has anyone ever been put into this situation? Any advise?

CM Nice! I plan on sending an e-mail to HR next Monday to check in on my status.

I hope that we are all able to make it in time for preplanning week!

CM I received my firm offer today!!!

Update about my current position - a replacement for my position was found earlier this week, so things worked out and I'm able to get out of my contract. This has been a wild 3 months!
