How soon after getting travel orders can you leave? And how soon within that can you schedule your pack out?

HeART, yes. Firm offer is a letter that you sign and return. Your Travel Orders is a document that gives you authorization to enter the base, make arrangments, etc.

When I got my travel orders it had the information for setting up the move. I'm not close to a base now so am doing "self-counseling" for the move online. And yes, I needed my orders to process the move and to set up tickets. Congrats on your offer!
