My wife hasn't been in contact with the school yet since receiving her tentative offer (about two weeks ago). Do schools usually reach out to new hires once paperwork is processed or would it be more appropriate for her to reach out to administration directly?

Thankinghim I feel the abine comments are right on. I interviewed and never heard from principal even after sending a thank you email. I have been in communication with the Secratary (who's currently on vacation) before leaving she but me in contact with a sponsor that could and does answer all of my questions. This is for overseas. DoDeaNewbie If she can connect with her sponsor or another teacher, that would most likely be a more helpful experience. I emailed my admin throughout. Sometimes I got a response and sometimes I did not. They have a full plate and truly just want teachers teaching. That's not necessarily a bad thing. LiteracyRocks I guess my impatient nature took over. :) Once I signed my tentative offer, I contacted my principal to ask if there was anything she needed from me. She was in meetings, so had the secretary call me, and we chatted. I've since made a trip to the area to see the school and look at housing. I dropped by the school and they greeted me like family.
