I am very early in the application process for a Dodea teaching job overseas, and I really don't know much about it. Can anyone tell me more about it? I have a husband and 2 school aged children? Do we live at the base? At a cost? Do my children attend school at the base? At a cost? Do we have health insurance? At a cost? Are we able to live ok with only the teaching salary? Is it worth it?

Thanks!
haha Where you live depends on the base/location and the time that you are hired, as policies and practices tend to change over time. In general, it seems that most teachers live off base either by choice or because on base housing is reserved for active duty personnel. Either way, the gov't subsidizes your housing and utilities/costs in the form of LQA...See More
