Can someone help diagnose my computer's problem? My emac was working fine, then the screen went black. I have changed the battery and that didn't help. What could it be?

Neal b>flip it over, open the little door on the bottom, and pull out the battery. Flip it over, plug it in, and try starting it again. If it works, take the old battery and find a new one for it (you can find replacements in local RadioShacks at a ~US$21 or so list price, or online for around $10 including shipping).
