I am using a PC in the community room to write this as my iMac at home keeps shutting down.

At present, that is the only computer I can use when home. I uploaded a bunch of photos I took while camping with almost no trouble. Actually, I pulled them off into folders because iPhoto seems to be full or near capacity and I did not want the computer to shut down like my newer one did which I still haven't solved the problem for.

I have a blog and used to have minimal problems uploading photos to it BUT now I get a couple photos uploaded and then the computer shuts completely off in the middle of uploading. It just clicks off. WHY?

Should I run the original CD's for OS 10 x (forget the exact decimals after the 10. . . and replace everything? The old computer does not have Tiger or the new one (Leopard, I think) Will I lose the photos I have on there that are not backed up with a CD yet? OR do I just need to take it to Portland for repair at an Apple store? Easier s...See More
Neal You need about 20% free space for virtual memory to run, so on an 40GB drive you should always leave 8GB free, 16GB on an 80GB drive, 24GB on a 120GB drive.

Have you recently run Disk Utlity, Disk First aid, repair permissions, and verify disk?
