It's old, but my 3rd graders and 5th graders both love Sparkle for spelling review. All kids sit on desks. Teacher says one word and kids take turns going around room (decide the order ahead of time) each saying one letter. Keep going until there is 1 (or whatever you want) winner.

My favorite part of this game is that it forces the kids to listen; if they say "What?" because they didn't hear what was said before them, I say they're out.

Maureen My kids absolutely love it, too. It's such a simple game....it amazes me that they enjoy it so much. Anyway, I play it slightly different than you. After the student says "Sparkle", the next person sits down and the next person starts spelling the new word. I think your version might go on too long, especially if the class has good spellers!
