I have been seeing a student for the last few weeks. She has been dealing with issues with her mother whom she currently lives with. Her parents are not together and have not been for several years. They do not get along at all and have recently gone to court to redo the domiciliary conditions. Each time the girl's mother finds out that her and I have had a session, she emails me wanting to know what we discussed. HELP?

Am I legally obligated to tell her what we talked about? If so, how do I tell her as little as possible to protect the confidentiality of the student? FYI: The student does not want to divulge what we talk about to her mother.

Any and all suggestions are welcome!!
Delehla How does the mother know that her daughter has come to see you? Don't you think it's strange that she tells her mother that she talked with you, but then doesn't want it discussed?
