I find myself in an unusual position...a member of my dept has an attitude that absolutely gets in the way of establishing a helpful environment in the classroom and also can prevent the subject area team from working well together. The comments made to staff and students can be very edgy and are delivered in a way that is off putting. I have spoken with the teacher, but he doesn't see this as a problem, and feels that I am overreacting. How would you handle this situation?

If you are in an area with a union, I would ask the union to step in a mediate (we have mediation services). If not, I would work hard to deal with this without the P. Otherwise, you could end up being the one who is in trouble if the sit...See More
