Hi! I will be student teaching this Fall and of course look up to those who already have achieved the role of being an elementary education school teacher. Hence, I'm asking all of you... when should I go for my masters? Should I get a job teaching first and eventually go nights? Should I not get a job teaching and go for my masters full time? I appreciate all of your advice! Thanks, Kristen

Been there (NJ) I went back to school for my teaching certificate and Masters in Education all in one shot. I can tell you from experience, you'll have a better chance of finding work if you get a job with a BA (or BA+ maybe) than with a Masters. Miss M One other reason to wait that is tied into what many have said, what you would consider getting your masters in right now is NOT what you might want in a year or two after being on the job. AND, your area of interest may not be a masters degree now but might in a few years.
