First Day/Week of school activities

I am a new teacher that began teaching in January. Although I have a little experience under my belt this will be my first "first day of school". How does your day usually go? What are some get to know you activities you do and what kind of content activities do you do? I teach 3rd grade so eventually we will have reading groups, centers, and are ability grouping for math. How would you suggest I fill the first few days? Thanks!!
