I need a reasonably priced music annotation software that will allow me to enter a piano part, modulate and change time signature in the middle of the piece, and more. I also need to save it to a midi file, which I then change to mp3 for use in rehearsals.

I tried Finale Notepad. However, it won't do anything as "advanced" as key changes and changed time signature in the middle of a piece. The next step up is $250 -- and I can't feasibly swing that on my personal budget. Since I am not a full-time music teacher, that's not something I'm going to ask for from my school. I'm getting an hourly pay for the choir, but that's about it.

Any other ideas? I don't play piano well enough to record an accompaniment for rehearsal purposes.

Forgot to add on noteflight You can also create project templates for your students to do assignments. Share with them, they do their assignment on the template and share it back to you.

Check it out. Pretty cool music community over there.

DonnaR/CA Thanks for sharing your thoughts about Noteflight. I would hardly need but 2 or 3 scores per year, so 10 a year doesn't sound too bad!

I'm still working with MakeMusic, Inc., to see if we can get that old Finale Allegro working on my one-and-only XP computer. The last email that I had with MMInc said for me to check to see if I have a fir...See More

10 scores at noteflight TOTAL Sorry, I typed 10 a year. But it's just 10 total.

However, once you have notated what you needed and printed it out - you could then use that same score to do something totally different.

You just can't have more than 10 scores saved in noteflight at one time.

I put one in yesterday -- just need to add some of the elements such as ritard, dynamics markings, etc. Once it's done, I intend to print it out, save it as either midi or mp3, and then delete it (if Noteflight will allow me to do that). I did not place in t...See More

Glad noteflight worked wellfor you! Yes, you can export to mp3, and then either delete it - -
- or just edit it until it's a completely different score
than what it was.

Either way, it can be used again.
