I had a thought, and believe this would be well received by schools- a workshop on about Substitute teachers. I been subbing now going on my 5th yr and many schools as well as teachers and students do not seem to know what we need to have successful days in the classroom (and this IS what it is all about right?). Ive been in rooms where there were NO plans and was told by the admin to "wing it"! (UN- acceptable) We are professional people, we don't nor shouldn't have to "wing it" at any school at anytime. If I develop a workshop for this how would I market myself to the area districts? How much would I charge for doing this? Per hr or per day? I really think this is needed and would be appreciated (sooner or later LOL) as no one likes to be left in the dark when having a sub come in the classroom or the sub having NO idea what is expected from the teacher, admin or students! I appreciate some feed back please!! Thanks!
