I am a native Spaniard. Just recently moved to the US. Was not in the education sector, but I am interested in possibly becoming a Spanish teacher in New Jersey and was searching for information on the subject.

From what I have read I would need a Bachelors degree, which would be in Spanish. Is there a faster route to completing a 4 year Bachelors degree?

I was told about an alternate route program designed for those who have not completed a formal teacher preparation program at an accredited college or university, but wish to obtain the necessary training to become a NJ certified teacher. But looking into this program, requirements are a minimum of a bachelors degree. Am I missing something? How is that an alternate route?

Was also told that if you are a native speaker, there were other options as well.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
