Here's something that's a little different that you may want
to try to mark the passing of 100 Days. Why not tie the
observance into a recycling project? Have kids bring in 100
cans or something similar, and after you've reached the
goal, you can recycle them.

If you want to take the project one step further, make a
garbage pizza, as shown here. This model shows the
composition of American landfills by the percentage of
various types of trash. Kids bring in the various "pizza
toppings," and you glue them onto the pizza.

The one shown here is the size of a regular pizza, but you
could make a bigger one. Click on the thumbnail photos to
see the details. Teaching kids about recycling is a great
way to encourage environmental stewardship and
responsibility. And when Earth Day rolls around, you have a
ready made visual aid for demonstration purposes.
