I teach a lot of subjects this way,

you make comtractions on the board. like: don't then you make cards: do ...not Make lots of cards to go with the contractions you want to teach.

nicole I saw this contraction concentration game in a first grade class, and I did it with my kids who are older, and they like it. Individulaly index cards have contractions and the two words on them, i.e., don't, do not, and the cards are placed on a table, desk, floor, face down, and the kids have to find the matching contraction and two words.
