Starting a Special Needs Daycare

Hi!! I am a Licensed Master Social Worker, who specializes with Special Needs Children. I am also a previous Group Home Daycare owner. I am very interested in opening a daycare that speiclizes in special needs children. I am looking to open a center, but have no idea where to start my search. I have a business plan in my head but have nothing documented yet. Where do I start?

Vannessa I have been wanting to run a daycare for 20 years and I need help I need to know where to start. I would live to have some one help me through.

Financial, Supportive, Locational is where I stand in the need of help. I have a Very Strong Business Plan, A Equipment List, An Accredited Child Development Course of Completion. I know what rejections are on "Regular" Day Cares require. Unfortunately, My Parents and I had to face when I was younger.

Shanna Gairy I am interested in starting a special needs daycare. I've read the comments on this post and done a ton of research. I have even held mini camps. But I am looking for a checklist... any pointers?

DLK Hi Lyn, I only found you because I was asking the exact same question, but it seems all you got in return were more stories. Have you found what you needed? In what state/town are located?
