TEACHERS.NET TO HOST LIVE INTERNET EVENT
WITH AUTHOR/ILLUSTRATOR JOAN HOLUB
SAN DIEGO, CA -- Teachers.Net will host a live Internet chat event with famed author/illustrator Joan Holub this Friday, May 22 at 9 p.m. Eastern. Ms. Holub will appear in the Teachers.Net Conference Room (http://www.teachers.net/conference/) and answer questions posed live from teachers across the globe.
Joan Holub, 37, former Associate Art Director in the children's division of Scholastic, Inc. in New York, is the author of six books for young readers and illustrator of 16 others. Ms. Holub's books are popular selections in the major school book clubs, Scholastic and Troll. Her "One Hundredth Day of School" website, a spin-off of one of her books with author Angela Medearis, offers ideas to encourage and enhance 100th day celebrations in schools. Ms. Holub also maintains a colorful website at http://www.joanholub.com showcasing her books and offering teaching activities, contests, and writing tips for children.
With Joan Holub's guest appearance, San Diego based Teachers.Net is adding to its busy schedule of live events focusing on issues important to educators. The site offers frequent trouble-shooting sessions on computer-related problems. Early childhood educators take turns moderating weekly meetings for their grade level; cross grade level groups meet to discuss issues and practices such as block schedules, assessment techniques and special education. "Book Talks" are monthly discussions about books of interest to teachers. Much of the information shared during Teachers.Net live events is preserved and offered online via its many message boards, making the session transcripts available for the 3,000+ user sessions the site logs each day.
