TEACHERS.NET PRESENTS CHILDREN'S MUSICIAN HAP PALMER
SAN DIEGO, CA -- Teachers.Net is pleased to announce a live chat with Hap Palmer - pied piper of music and movement for generations of children on November 5, 1999 from 9-10 pm Eastern Time. Mr. Palmer will interact live with educators from around the globe via the Teachers.Net Meeting Room at http://teachers.net/meetings.
Hap Palmer is an innovator in the use of music and movement to teach basic skills and encourage the use of imagination and creativity. He has been referred to by Parents' Choice as the dean of children's music. For over twenty years his recordings have been widely used in schools and day care centers.
Hap Palmer's songs have also been used in the popular Baby Songs video series. A songwriter, musician, singer, dancer and educator, he conducts workshops and presents concerts throughout the nation. He has also performed with the UCLA Dance Company, and the Pierce College Dance Theater. Palmer's educational background includes an M.A. in Dance Education from the University of California at Los Angeles. His recordings and videos have received numerous honors, including the Parents' Choice Award, the American Library Association Notable Recordings Designation, the American Library Association Best of the Best for Children, the National Parenting Publications Award, and the American Video Award.
The live session with Hap Palmer is one of a busy schedule of live, online professional development topics presented on weeknights at the Teachers.Net mega-site. In addition to weekly sessions for early childhood educators, teachers and school administrators from around the globe can access monthly real-time sessions for beginning and student teachers, substitute teachers, special education and elementary/middle school educators.
