Post: retirement derailed
    Posted by: anon on 9/09/15

I posted about having to back to work after planning on
retirement earlier. And now with a new bionic knee I am
in the trenches again. I do enjoy parts of teaching
(the kids, the classroom) but with all the planning,
duties and extra things thrown at us, i am exhausted.
Anyway, not sure I can make it for 2 more years after
this one, but I will need to work at least until I
qualify for medicare. Just wondering if any of you have
any ideas of a job good for a former teacher? I could
teach piano, other part time things, but need the
insurance of a full time job. Alternatively, I find
myself more and more called to live in the mountains of
Tennessee or N Carolina instead of arid Texas. Would I
be nuts to move off by myself with no friends or family
there and start a new life? I could live more cheaply,
find a little house in the woods (trees, no grass to
    mow......sounds like heaven to me.
