I have been subbing some since school started. I did a
two week stint in a special ed room (started the school
year) and have done some jobs in my old school. I am
going there at some point today to sub for a teacher
whose has an appointment (long story). I have a sub job
there next week, too. I was informally offered a .5
resource position in a low income school, probably the
poorest school in our district. I am waiting for the
official offer. I have said yes, contingent on pay. I
want to go in at my old salary (of course, at the daily
rate) and be able to set my days and times due to
commitments I have made since retiring. I have been
finally dealing with fixing up my house, inside and out.
That has put a bit of a dent in my savings. I want to
building up that savings, as well as finish all of the
projects. I should be able to do that if I get the pay
that I am expecting. I am enjoying subbing, but there
aren't as many jobs as I had thought there would be.
