Post: Just thinking...
Good day to all- It's a very rainy and windy day here today-
probably 6-8 inches of rain and tropical storm level winds-
the remnants of Hurricane Patricia are coming ashore.
It's the kind of day day that is made for napping, reading,
and thinking.
A few days ago, I was talking with a friend- much the same
age as I am- and he was complaining about how hard it gets
to remember certain things. I agreed that the growing level
of forgetfulness can be annoying, but as I said this, I was
thinking something very different.
In its own way, becoming forgetful is a blessing in itself.
Yes, I grow anxious that I will forget too much, but on the
other hand, there are some things- to be honest, several
things, that I really don't want to remember. There are
some experiences, conversations, mistakes that need to be
forgotten.
So, with all bad things that come with aging, there are also
compensations. Being forgetful is just one of them, I guess.
Just a thought on a rainy Monday.
