While not quite as dramatic as Ed's sighting, I had a
Thanksgiving Day surprise. The houses in my neighborhood
have acre lots. The houses are of moderate size and our
yards are big. On Thanksgiving morning I had this moment of
panic about possibly needing more potatoes. I took a quick
trip to the store to pick up more potatoes. With my potato
trip done, I turned the corner onto my street and out of
the corner of my eye I spotted a "turkey decoy". I
snickered and thought how cute it was to put that out on
Thanksgiving. Then, I realized that it was alive and that
the entire front and most of the side yard of my neighbor's
yard was filled with wild turkeys.
