It is my 6 month anniversary of retirement! I am happy to
say that it's going well. I did sign up so sub in my old
district, but am mostly subbing when requested by
friends, not when I get those early morning robocalls.
Subbing gets me out of the house these dark late
fall/early winter mornings. My favorite day to sub at my
old school is Thursday. I get to walk on by staff
meetings on my way out of school after a long day of
teaching.

I am having my kitchen remodeled. It is completely torn
out right now. We would have been farther along, but I
just couldn't deal with one of the cabinets. It was just
too narrow and the drawer was not large enough for my
silverware. The electrical needs to be completely
updated. I'm also having the kitchen reconfigured. I'll
have less counter space, but more storage. The
refrigerator currently blocks the dining room door part
way, so moving it has taken away that counter space. I'm
fine with that as that space was where the mail, my
purse, and other small things got dropped. I'll have a
small counter put in on the old fridge wall to take care
of that.
Anyway, except for the frustration of no kitchen, I am
really enjoying retirement.
