Good afternoon to all- Just got back from the library
checking out a copy of Huckleberry Finn. A retired teacher
friend who is the president of the local book club asked me
to come and speak to the group later this week- mainly, I
think because I do, in some degenerated way, resemble Mark
Twain- at least, that's what my students used to tell me.
I'm to present a 30 minute discussion of Mark Twain- quite
impossible, of course, but we'll do our best.
I found myself doing lots of research, getting copies of
books together, and looking for visual aids, and I even
considered getting outlines and worksheets put together.
I expect I'll take prepping for class presentations to the
grave with me. I can't bear to go stand in front of folks
without having way too much work ready to hand out to
monitor comprehension, increase recall, promote deeper
reading...
and keep 'em busy and out of trouble until the bell rings.
Good evening to all- Ed Mashburn
