I got a text and a phone call from my teacher friend. Today
was an early release day for students so that teachers could
have time to work on whatever admin needed done.

My former colleagues were tasked with evaluating new
textbooks that are up for adoption for either 2017 or 2018 (it
was supposed to be 2015, but the state delayed due to
funding). They each have to fill out a rubric designed by
central office for each book (5 options).

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy I don't have to jump
through that mess!
