I've been teaching elementary in Utah for 10 years. Before that, I lived in Ft. Collins, CO for a year. I took the state exam (the PLACE exam, I think it was called), got licensed and subbed, but moved before interviewing. Now we'd like to move back and are looking at rural (western CO) locations. I'm now in the process of renewing my license and we are taking a road trip to CO soon to visit some areas we like. Are we wasting our time? I know some of the popular districts are really hard to get into, but we're looking at rural areas. But I've noticed that even some of the smaller towns require the teacherinsight test. I've been researching that online and it seems ridiculous, according to people on a messageboard. Those who took it posted that the test didn't truly measure them as a teacher and their abilities.
