FL teacher Better to resign than be fired. Having to explain why you were fired or non-renewed is a red flag and a teacher's nightmare. You can always explain a resignation, i.e., Job not a good fit, personal reasons, family emergency, etc. Good luck.

anon If the person is being forced out, it isn't any better than going through a sham termination hearing and losing (a "dismissal"). Neither is taking a "resignation in lieu of a dismissal." That's because they are not voluntary quits--they are firings for all intents and purposes.
